Alan began practicing law in Anacortes
in 1997, following his career in the Navy's Civil Engineering Corps and receiving his law degree with honors from the University of Washington. Being an engineer and the son of a building contractor and inspector, he chose to practice in the areas of construction, contracts, property and business law. He began practicing estate planning, trust, and probate law after helping several family members and friends. Alan has a masters in electrical engineering and B.A. in sociology. He is licensed as a professional engineer in Washington and Colorado. During his Navy career he was in charge of the on-site construction of Naval Station Everett and served as the Public Works Officer at Naval Air Station, Whidbey Island. As an attorney, he is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Alan is experienced in litigation, mediation, and arbitration, and has represented clients in both Washington State and federal courts. He has served as arbitrator for various disputes including construction and business cases.
